- Bio: FRAZEYSBURG - Oliver Vestre, 86, of Nashport, Ohio, died Sunday morning, Sept. 10, 2006, at the Adams Lane Care Center, Zanesville, Ohio.Born October 22, 1919, in Strongfield, Saskatchewan, Canada, he was the son of the late Christ and Anna (Kline) Vestre. Mr. Vestre was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Army Air Corps, and he was a self-employed contractor, operating Vestre Excavating and Construction for many years. He was a member of the Nashport United Methodist Church and was chairman of the board of trustees of the church and was a past president of men's church group. He was also a lay minister and served at Toboso United Methodist Church and Brushy Fork United Methodist Church for several years.Surviving are his wife, Shirley J. (Spence) Vestre whom he married Dec. 12, 1975; three sons, John (Thelma) Vestre of Nashport, Evan (Vickie) Vestre of Rocky Fork, Wyo., and Carl (Valarie) Cronin of Chandlersville, Ohio; three daughters, Charlotte (Robert) Shrigley of Zanesville, Terri (Russ) Adams and Polly (Mark) McConaha, both of Nashport; four brothers, Ernest (Sally) Vestre, Otis Vestre, Dave Vestre and Evan (Darlene) Vestre, all of Canada; three sisters, Gladys (Walter) Seltenridge, Joy (Gene) Benson and Dorothy Brown, all of Canada; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tammy Vestre.Calling hours will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2006, at the Frazeysburg Chapel of Vensil-Orr & Chute Funeral Home, 110 West Third St.Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2006, at the funeral home with the Rev. Clarence Dinnen officiating. Burial will be in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
