- Bio: Billie G. Beach, 77, of Kingston, Ill., died Saturday, March 3, 2007, at home while surrounded by his family. Born Feb. 7, 1930, in Midway, Tenn., he was the son of Cecil and Anna Lee (Wampler) Beach. He married Jacquin Kellogg on July 9, 1955. Billie was a veteran of the Korean conflict, having served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a decorated war veteran and received various medals, including the distinguished Flying Cross. He was a tailgunner on a B29 Super Flying Fortress. Billie worked as a union carpenter for the Rockford Local. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, gardening and taking great vacations with his family. He is survived by his wife, Jacquin, of Kingston; six children, Billie Beach Jr. of California, Kenton (Pamela) Beach of Sycamore, Nathan Beach of Kingston, Patrick (Brenda) Beach of Burlington, Clint (Andrea) Beach of Michigan and Brandy (Jeff) Miller of Kingston; nine grandchildren; three sisters, Annette (James) Crewy of Tennessee, Genevieve (Carl) Ellis of Belvidere and Helen Jo Beach of Tennessee; a brother, Cecil (Joyce) Beach Jr. of Wisconsin; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Clifford; and a sister, Betty Payne. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, at Slater-Butala Funeral Home in Genoa, with Pastor Efrain Avila officiating. Burial will be at Kingston Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in care of Slater-Butala Funeral Home, 132 W. Main St., Genoa, IL 60135.
