- Bio: Baker Rites Held ThursdayFuneral services for Charles E. Baker, 73, were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Methodist church. Rev. W. Elliott officiated.Music was by Mrs. V. E. Lovell , and Mrs. W. W. Elliott, accompanied by Helen Posvar.Pallbearers were Gus Lander, Walt Newell, Ed Minihan, Martin Westerhold, John Moeller andJohn Radtke.Interment was in Rose Hill cemetery.Mr. Baker died Monday after a short illness. He Was born in Burt county on December 2. 1879. He had been a resident of the Pender area for the past 50 years. He farmed for 10 years and later bought and sold horses and land.Surviving are one brother, Albert, Pender; and two sisters, Mrs. Ida Smith of Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Lizzie Boyd of Ventura, Calif.Published in the Pender Times, Nov. 1953
