- TASTAD, Robert "Bob" Passed away peacefully on May 18, 2009. He was born in Aurora, Illinois June 15, 1921. After his tour of duty in the Navy, he moved to Sacramento where he met and married his wife Kathleen Miller. They made their home and raised their family in Sacramento where they stayed for the next 57 years. Bob joined the Sacramento City Fire Department in 1952 and became an Engineer, working with many firemen he was proud to call friends. He retired with honor from that beloved job in 1984. Bob was an enthusiastic and active member of the Golden Seniors Softball League for a number of years after retirement and it gave him much joy. He was a "softy" who loved his family and his animals. He liked to joke and found humor in most things, and always conducted himself with the utmost integrity. He is survived by his wife, Katie Tastad and his 3 children Holly (Gary) Tastad-Pozel, and their son Eric and daughter Sarah; Amy (Ron) Long; Tom Tastad (Suzanne), daughter Michaela and step-sons Ryan and Urijah Faber as well as a number of nieces and nephews throughout California. He was preceded in death by his 3 sisters and mother and father. No service will be held.
