- Bio: From Swea City Herald:Services were held Monday, May 20, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church for Mrs. Augusta Pehrson, who passed away Friday evening, May 17, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. J. O'Dell in Bancroft. She was 91 years, 4 months, and 11 days of age at the time of her demise.Augusta B. Swenson was born the daughter of Swen and Anna Christine Swensen at Jonkapengs Lan, Sweden, January 6, 1866. At the age of thirteen, she came with her parents to the Swea community, where she spent most of her life.She was united in marriage to John E. Pehrson December 27, 1884. They lived on a farm in Eagle Township. Born to this union were twelve children.Preceding her in death were her husband, two sons and two daughters; Robert, Arthur, Anna, and Emily.Surviving are her sister, Mabel Swenson of St. Peter, Minn., and eight children: Mrs. Edwin C. Hovey of Kenosha, Wis.; Oscar of Pasadena, Calif.; Mrs. Edna Ponsness of Los Angeles, Calif.; Roy of Swea City; Mrs. Charles Scholtes of Bancroft; Bernhard of Moorhead, Minn; Mrs. E. J. O'Dell of Bancroft; and Mrs. Martin Swanson of Fairmont, Minn.; twenty-four grandchildren and twenty-eight great grandchildren.Mrs. Pehrson was a member of the former Zion Lutheran Church since shortly after her arrival in this county, and an active member of Immanual Lutheran Church.
