Georgi Streetman, 70, Sioux Falls, SD, died Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at The Avera Dougherty House in Sioux Falls of cancer. Visitation will be Sunday, March 23 at Heritage Funeral Home from 3:00-5:00 pm and a Celebration for Life service will be held Monday, March 24 at 2:00 at the 1st United Methodist Church, both in Sioux Falls.
    • Georgi was born December 5, 1943 in Mitchell, SD to George and Florence (Hegvold) Streetman. The first of 6 talented children, she was raised in Mitchell, went to public school, and graduated from Mitchell High School in 1961. She attended Augustana College and then the University of South Dakota. At USD, she was a member of Alpha Xi Delta sorority, was a Miss USD runner up, and graduated in Art Ed in 1965.
    • In July 1964, she married Chuck Mauszycki, Sr. also of Mitchell. She and her husband moved to Germany in 1966 with the Army until November 1968. Georgi remembered her time spent in Germany as her favorite highlight in life. Upon returning to the U.S., they moved back to Mitchell where Georgi filled her life and contributed to others through music, art, and civic activities. She was continually starting up and involved with singing performances, choirs (Pace People at Holy Family Catholic Church), the Mitchell Arts Council, the Miss Mitchell Pageant, the Madrigal Feast, and two businesses she owned and operated (Artworks and Nice Things Unlimited).
    • In 1985, Georgi left Mitchell and moved to Lee's Summit, MO and then to San Diego, CA in 1986 to pursue her dreams and passions in spiritual ministry, music, and art. While in San Diego, she produced and performed in multiple concerts and shows, recorded CDs, taught singing lessons, and directed church choirs at Religious Science churches.
    • Georgi moved back to South Dakota in 2003 to be closer to family. While never sitting still in Spearfish, Mitchell, and eventually Sioux Falls, she continued to perform, paint, direct choirs, and found/teach at her schools of music and art for children. Everywhere she went, she left an enormous impact of inspiration using her incredible God given talents. Her life goal was always to show people the beauty in and around themselves, encouraging them to see God's wonderful creation.
    • She was so proud of her most valued treasures her children: Chuck (Christine) Mauszycki, Jr., Mitchell, Sammie (Sam) (Mauszycki) Kephart, Spearfish, and Michael Mauszycki, Sioux Falls; her grandchildren Lexie and Allison, Spearfish, Isaac, Anna, and Julia, Sioux Falls, and Sara and Matthew, Mitchell.
    • She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and siblings Jackie (Mike) Austin, Rock Rapids, IA, Cecilee Streetman, Rapid City, and Art (Anita) Streetman, Mitchell.
    • Georgi was preceded in death by her two sisters, Skotti Murphy and Stacey Streetman, and by her parents George and Florence Streetman. Georgi gave so much of herself; she will be greatly missed by all.
