- William Dean Storjohann, 83, of rural Davenport, passed Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at his rural home near Davenport, surrounded by his loving family.
- William has been cremated and his ashes entrusted to his family. Bentley Funeral Homes is in charge of the arrangements.
- Private funeral services will be live streamed at 12:45 p.m., Saturday, February 13, via Bentley Funeral Homes Facebook Page.
- A Celebration of Life gathering will be 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., with a Prost at 2:30 p.m., on Saturday, February 20, at the Walcott American Legion. Memorials may be given to the University of Iowa for Parkinson Research in his memory.
- William Dean Storjohann was born August 19, 1937, in Davenport, the son of William and Erene (Woehlk) Storjohann. Upon his father’s early death, he was raised by his mother and step-father, Carl Behrens. He graduated from Davenport High School in 1956. He married Marian Fahrenkrog on May 24, 1958, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport. He became an apprenticeship with a floor covering company and formed a partnership with Keith Meyer to start their own business, Meyer & Storjohann Carpentry and Flooring. In 1963, he and Marian started farming in rural Davenport. When not farming he devoted time to his German heritage and the community. He was past director of Walcott Mutual Insurance, a member of the Walcott Community Club, Co-founder of A.S.H.H.S, teacher of the low-German language, dance instructor and story teller. He also liked to work with his hands by building his home, modifying equipment, rebuilding old cars and pony harness. Above all, he loved the time he spent with his family.
- Surviving are his wife, Marian; three daughters, Keri Storjohann of Grimes, Kristi (Dan) Petersen of Polk City and Kay (Don Scroggin) Kiefer of Johnston; seven grandchildren, Cooper Wilde, Kelsy Wilde, Renee (Trent) Brisby, Lindsey (Brian) Wolf, Sydney (Caleb Bailey) Arp, Josh Petersen, Lauren Kiefer; two great-grandsons, Harrison and William; and two half brothers, Ronald (Carol) Storjohann and Dennis (Glynda) Behrens.
