- Bio: Helmut Storjohann, 80, of Davenport, passed away Monday, September 28, 2009, after an extended illness in the comfort of his home.
- Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 1, at Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois. There will be no visitation held. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to his family.
- Helmut Storjohann was born December 28, 1928, in Kaltenkirchen, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. He was united in marriage to Carol Clausen on June 25, 1961, in Davenport. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean conflict. He worked at Oscar Mayer in Davenport for 25 years, until his retirement in 1981. He later worked at Stewart's five points with his son.
- Helmut loved many things in life. He loved attending Jane's Place at CASI, coffee at Hardee's with his buddies, polka music, and building plastic models. Most of all, Helmut's family meant the world to him.
- He is survived by his wife, Carol; one daughter, Sandy (George) McFarland, three sons, Gregory (Kathy) Storjohann, Phillip (Kim) Storjohann, and Jonathon Storjohann; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
- He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Bruce and Daniel Storjohann, two sisters and one brother.
