- Clarence Starr, 80, a resident of Aberdeen since … died Saturday in a local hospital of burns received at his home, in the Rutherford court Apartments. …
Starr was born Jan. 30, 1888, in Henderson, Calif., and came to Aberdeen from Oakland, Calif. He worked in Robinson Paint Co.'s contract division. Before moving here, he was a general contractor. He managed the Roosevelt Apartments for about 10 years until he became ill six months ago.
He was associated with Jehovah's Witnesses. He is survived by his widow., Alma J., at home; two sons, Philip Starr, Paradise, Calif., and Louis Thorson, Aberdeen; two daughters, Mrs. Audrey Thorpe, Pleasant Hill, Calif., and Mrs. Helen Titus, Alamo, Calif.; one brother, George A. Starr, Antioch, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Lois Rahming and Mrs. Jessie Berglund, both of Portland; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Whiteside Chapel, with Edmond Stultz officiating. Burial will follow in Fern Hill Cemetery.
Remembrances may be made to charities of the individual's choice.
