- Diane K. Szceszinski, of Ferndale, while at home with her husband by her side and holding her hand, went to be with our Lord on October 26, 2006. She was 60 years old.
- Diane was born on October 31, 1945 in Seattle, the daughter of Kale and Janice Skutley. She graduated from Highline Community College with an Associate of Arts degree and then went to work at the Boeing Company as a secretary. After the birth of her youngest, she followed her true calling as a full time mother. She raised her children teaching them by example her grace, patience, humor, tenderness, and most important, love. Sharing her passion of the outdoors, she taught them how to bait a hook, build a fire, enjoy a spontaneous picnic, and play in the rain.
- She and her husband Emil H. ?Ski? frequented their favorite place, Georgetown Lake in Montana, where they mutually shared their love for the outdoors. Diane bonded with all her neighbors, wherever they lived. Though her life seemed cut short, her mark was certainly made. Now she readies a home in heaven for all of us, and we will see her there later.
- Survivors include her loving husband Ski Szceszinski; daughters Jennie Slack and Dieta Hake; son Karl Schenk; mother Janice Skutley; brother Raymond Skutley; and grandchildren Logan and Colton Slack, Scott and Conner Hake, and Briar Schenk.
- Buried Washington Memorial Park.
- A celebration of her life will be held 1 P.M. Thursday, November 2, 2006 at Flintoft?s Issaquah Funeral Home, 540 E Sunset Way, Issaquah, WA.
