  Bio: Funeral Mass for John P. Sichmeller, age 77 of Murdo, SD will be held on Friday, May 11, 2018 at 1:00 PM at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Sisseton, SD with Rev. Fr. Jerry Ranek officiating. Organist will be Colette Hull and song leader will be Sandi Jaspers. Pallbearers will be Brandon Bury; Brent Bury; Michael Gross; Dusty Davenport; Jacob Fogel and Cal Cammack. Honorary Pallbearers will be all of John’s grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends. Interment will be in the Ferkingstad Cemetery, Hammer, SD. There will be visitation on Friday, May 11, 2018 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church from 10:00 AM to time of service. The Cahill Funeral Chapel, Sisseton, SD is in charge of funeral arrangements. John was born July 16, 1940 to John Leonard and Alma (Palm) Sichmeller in Webster, SD and was one of nine children. He attended school at St. Peter’s Catholic school and Sisseton High School. He was united in marriage to Violet Aadland on January 19, 1959 in Webster. To this union seven children were born. John enjoyed being outdoors, working and being with family and friends. He began his job career building grain elevators and retired from the SD Department of Transportation. John passed away on May 4, 2018 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Fall, SD. John is survived by his wife: Violet Sichmeller of Murdo, SD; six children: Deb (Mark) Hagen of Langford, SD; Jayme (Flor) Sichmeller of Valley Center, CA; Dawn (Gregg) Cramer of Aberdeen, SD,;Jackie Davenport of Aberdeen, SD; Jill Bury of Webster, SD and Beth (Jennings) Newbold of Murdo, SD; one sister: Marie Robinson of Poulsbo, WA; 18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents; son: Timothy Sichmeller;p two sisters: Arlene and Joann; and five brothers: Roger; James; Larry; David and Michael.
