- Bio: Oma Jean Shipman Wandvik, age 83, of Omaha, Nebraska passed away Monday, December 3, 2018, at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha. Oma Jean was born July 12, 1935 in Peace Valley, Missouri, the daughter of Omas and Ruby (McFarland) Shipman. She was raised in Missouri and Villisca, Iowa, graduating from Villisca High School in 1953. Oma Jean was united in marriage to Sidney Wandvik on January 29, 1954 in Omaha, Nebraska, where they made their home. Oma Jean was a homemaker and a faith filled woman who was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Millard, Nebraska. Oma Jean was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking, gardening, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was known to love garage sales and to be a bargain shopper.
- Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband: Sidney in 2003. Survivors include her children: Kevin Wandvik and significant other, Kathie of Council Bluffs, IA; Kirk Wandvik and significant other, Kim of Omaha, NE; Nycole Wandvik-Tolle of Gretna, NE; and Kari Robin Salonis and husband John of Louisville, NE; 5 grandchildren: Eric John Salonis of Omaha, NE; Bryan Allan Salonis and wife Michaela of Omaha, NE; Justin Scott Wandvik and wife Emily of Council Bluffs, IA; Kassandra Nycole Tolle of Omaha, NE; and Andrea Neol Tolle of Gretna, NE; 3 great grandchildren: Beau Robert Wandvik; Brady Salonis; and Micah Salonis; and many other relatives and friends.
- A celebration of life service will be held 1 PM Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel in Red Oak, Iowa. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery near Villisca, Iowa.
- Nelson-Boylan-LeRette Funeral Chapel of Red Oak, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.
