- Bio: Arlin Conrad Sheldahl was born October 8, 1938, to Osmond E. and Christine A. (Lande) Sheldahl in Des Moines, Iowa. He was baptized and confirmed at Palestine Lutheran Church where he was a lifelong member. Arlin graduated from Huxley High School in 1956. On July 1, 1961, he was united in marriage to Marjorie Rullestad. To this marriage they were blessed with three children: Tracy, Cindi and Rick.Arlin's entire life was spent in the Huxley area where he was a grain and livestock farmer - he especially had an interest in cattle. He was a 4-H member and leader of the Palestine Peppy Pushers Club. This interest remained his lifelong passion and summer was not complete without attending county fairs, as well as daily visits to the Iowa State Fair. He could often be found by the Beattie's Watermelon Stand or the Giant Yellow Slide, visiting with people from all over the country.Arlin's most special interest was his grandchildren - they were the highlight of his life. He loved attending every event they were involved in, from dance recitals to football, basketball and baseball games. He also enjoyed attending the races on Friday and Saturday evenings to cheer for #95.Survivors include his wife, Marjorie; his daughters, Tracy (Craig Jacobs) and Cindi (Mike) Thomas; his son, Rick (Lisa) Sheldahl; seven grandchildren, Mallorie, Joe, Mollie, Alex, Madeline, Olivia and Marshal; his sister, Nancy Fausch; his brother, Charles (Evy) Sheldahl; his brothers-in-law, LaVern (Linda) Rullestad and Richard (Bernie) Rullestad; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
