Ruth Duhachek, 91, of Newman Grove, died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011, at the Boone County Health Center in Albion.
- Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Newman Grove. Burial to follow in the parish cemetery.
- Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at the Newman Grove Memorial Funeral Home in Newman Grove.
- She was born Nov. 17, 1920, at Colone, S.D., to Henry and Mathilda (Zimmerman) Schroeder. She attended school in South Dakota and moved with her parents to Norfolk in 1938 and then to Newman Grove in 1940. She attended Newman Grove High School her senior year and graduated with the class of 1941.
- On June 29, 1942, she was united in marriage to Delbert Duhachek in Columbus. The couple farmed in the Newman Grove area for many years. She remained at her country home until the time of her death. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Newman Grove.
- Survivors include her daughter, Karen Krueger and husband, Eugene, of West Des Moines, Iowa; son, Roger Duhachek, of Newman Grove; six grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother, David Schroeder and wife, Sharon, of Fremont; sisters, Katie Hallgren, of Newman Grove, and Darlene Gifford and husband, Jack, of Phoenix, Ariz.; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
- She was proceeded in death by her husband in 2006; one brother; and two sisters.
