- Fredrick J. Schell, 91, of 520 E. Georgiana St., died Wednesday after a three-month illness. Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Harper Funeral Home with the Rev. Elsie Johnson officiating. Graveside services are to be in the North Platt, Neb., cemetery Tuesday. Mr. Schell was born June 25, 1873, in Nelson, Neb., coming to Clallam County about 20 years ago following the death of his wife. He moved to Port Angeles four years ago. He married Ella Gross in Nelson on Oct. 9, 1897. She died at North Platt in 1942. Mr. Schell attended schools in Nelson. As a young man he owned and operated a grocery store in Curtis, Neb. He and Mrs. Schell homesteaded in McPherson County, Neb., and lived many years there. Retired, Mr. Schell kept active doing various work. He was an active member of the Port Angeles Goldenagers club. Survivors include, three sons, Wilfred of Kemmerer, Wyo., Foster of Riverside, Calif., and Oliver Schell of Sheridan Ore.; two daughters, Mrs. Blanche Gunderson of Sun City, Calif., and Mrs. Janet Douglas of Port Angeles; two sisters, Mrs. Susie Boasen of Richland, and Mrs. Agnes Stufft of Cutback, Mont.; 15 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren."
