- Bio: Harold S. Sampson, 63, rural Dolliver, IA, died at 2 a.m. Sunday at St. Mary's Hospital at Rochester, MN. He had been in failing health for several months. Sampson was born July 28, 1907, at Huxley, IA. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Martin O. Sampson. He was educated in Huxley schools.Oct. 2, 1937, he married Hazel Ferguson at Estherville, IA. Following their marriage they lived in Minneapolis, MN, for three years. They later lived in Hastings, MN, and for the past 17 years had lived in the Dolliver area. He was a member of Palestine Lutheran Church, rural Dolliver.Survivors are his wife, Hazel, Dolliver; one daughter, Mrs. Wendell (Karen) Hanson, Estherville; one son, Ronald Sampson, White Bear Lake, MN; three brothers, Orville and Milford, Estherville; Lloyd, Iowa Falls, IA; three sisters, Mrs. Norman (Wilma) Nelsen, Ringsted, IA; Mrs. Ray (Edna) Larson, Armstrong, IA; and Mrs. Fred (Irene) Butterfield, Dolliver.He was preceded in death by his parents.Services will be Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Palestine Lutheran Church with the Rev. Norton McCaughn officiating. Burial is in the Palestine Lutheran Cemetery.
