- Bio: Nikiski resident Donald Wayne Rodman died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008 of natural causes at his home in Nikiski. He was 82.
- Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 15 at the North Kenai Chapel, Mile 29 Kenai Spur Highway in Nikiski. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services. Pastor Tim Tolar will officiate. The VFW Post 10046 and the American Legion Post 20 will perform military honors. Mr. Rodman will be laid to rest at the McGahan Cemetery in Nikiski. A gathering will immediately follow at the church.
- Mr. Rodman was born June 14, 1926 to Glen Alanzo and Zora Belle (James) Rodman in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He entered into the U.S. Marine Corps and served during WWII in Iwo Jima and was honorably discharged. Mr. Rodman worked for the Pasadena Police Department from 1948 to 1959 then for the California Department of Fish and Game from 1959 to 1962. He then worked as a special agent for the California Department of Justice with the Attorney General's Office in Sacramento from 1962 until he retired in 1983. Mr. Rodman was affiliated with the MSL Trinity Lutheran Church in Redding, Calif He enjoyed hunting, fishing and photography.
- Mr. Rodman was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Irene Rodman in 1967
